چکیده
In the modern world, with regards to the improvements in human life style and breakthroughs in medical sciences, vectorborne diseases such as malaria are still as public health challenge worldwide [1]. The most important reason is related to the movement capability of the vectors. Therefore, pathogens can be transported throughout the world [2]. Malaria is caused by protozoan parasites of the genus Plasmodium and transmitted to humans through the infected female Anopheles mosquito’s bites [3,4]. According to the WHO malaria report, in 2013, it has been estimated that 3.3 billion people are at risk of malaria infection and 1.2 billion are at high risk for this malignant malady. Furthermore, there were an estimated 584 000 out of 198 million cases of malaria happened entire of world led to deaths in 2013. In addition, malaria is the cause of more than 430 000 child’s deaths in Africa annually [5,6].

Development of a transmission-blocking malaria vaccine: progress, challenges, and the path forward.
New interventions are needed to reduce morbidity and mortality associated with malaria, as well as to accelerate elimination and eventual eradication. Interventions that can break the cycle of parasite transmission, and prevent its reintroduction, will be of particular importance in achieving the eradication goal. In this regard, vaccines that interrupt malaria transmission (VIMT) have been hig...
متن کاملSome Ecological Aspects of Malaria Vectors in Saravan Area, Iran
Background & Aims of the Study: The aim of this study was to determine the ecology of malaria vectors in order to select the vector control masseur in the future. This study was carried out on trend of malaria cases and malaria vectors in Saravan county, Sistan & Baluchestan Province, Iran. Materials & Methods: The adult mosquitoes were collected by standard Pyrethrum space spray colle...
متن کاملChallenges for malaria vector control in sub-Saharan Africa: Resistance and behavioral adaptations in Anopheles populations.
Over the past decade, global malaria-related mortality has declined dramatically because of combined international actions that have defined and prioritized national and regional efforts to reduce the incidence of malaria, with the ultimate goal of eradication. Vector control strategies using insecticide-treated nets (ITNs) and indoor residual spraying (IRS) in African countries have contribute...
متن کاملMalaria vector control and personal protection.
Malaria transmission rates and risks can be greatly reduced by vector control, mitigating high malaria incidence and prevalence rates. Methods and strategies for malaria vector control (MVC) have been well documented by WHO, although its implementation varies widely. Technical guidelines for MVC strategies and materials are readily available, but the status and role of MVC have not been reviewe...
متن کاملSynthesis and antiplasmodial activity of novel phenanthroline derivatives: An in vivo study
Objective(s): Due to the rapid increased drug resistance to Plasmodium parasites, an urgent need to achieve new antiplasmodial drugs is felt. Therefore, in this study, the new synthetic phenanthroline derivatives were synthesized with antiplasmodial activity. Materials and Methods: A series of 1,10-phenanthroline derivatives containing amino-alcohol and amino-ether substituents were synthesized...
